A man has been charged in connection with the death of Stuart McGhee in Rutherglen during "mass disorder."

38-year-old Stuart McGhee was found seriously injured and pronounced dead at the scene after police were called to reports of mass disorder in Rutherglen last month.

A 27-year-old suspect is set to appear in Glasgow Sheriff Court later on Monday after Stuart McGhee was allegedly attacked near a building on Farmeloan Road in Rutherglen on October 24.

Stuart McGhee, aged 38, managed to make his way to a nearby flat, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

His family described him as a "much-loved son, father, and brother who will be greatly missed."

Additionally, a 39-year-old man was arrested and charged with carrying an offensive weapon in public in connection with the disorder.

Alexander McGhee from Rutherglen did not contest the sole charge when he appeared in Glasgow Sheriff Court on October 26.
